Is your Norfolk IT support company up to the job?

A Quick question for you – how do you know your I.T. Support company is upto the job? You certainly can’t rely upon Microsoft certification , is its a multiple choice, easily crammed test, that doesn’t rely upon real world knowledge. Of course, even real world experience does’nt count for much if it’s gained at low level helpdesk or basic IT support.

So, how do you know? Well, unfortunatly, theres no easy way, but there are signs that they may not be upto the task.

If you outsource your IT, ask yourself these questions:

  • Has my suppport company ever performed a test restore of the data that we back up.
  • Do i seem to be calling to report the same problem many times, and have a quick fix solution.
  • Do i have a documented security and internet usage policy? In fact, is my system documented at all?
  • Is the software that my support company recomends, also the software they have affiliate schemes with?
  • Are they thinking about my business as a whole, or just suppling a reactive support service.

    We have been out to a few companies in Watton and Thetford over the last few weeks and have been astounded by the service that is provided by our competitors. From machines with no antivirus software, XP Home and Vista Home instead of XP and Vista Business versions, Desktops as servers, unbranded, cheaply built but heavily marked up pcs, lack of planning, lack of understanding.

    Please, if you have any doubts about your current IT provider, give us a call for a free audit and get a second opinion. Sure , we have an agenda and wan’t your businesses, but we also wan’t your business to be the best it can.
